BISHOP’S CASTLE GROUP

CONSTITUTION

 

OBJECTIVES

To maintain Bishop’s Castle and the local area as a rural and agricultural area, safe from pollution and inappropriate development which can, or possibly can be harmful to residents, the environment, livestock and food production. 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to residents of Bishop’s Castle and surrounding areas, who have an interest in or who may be affected by changes or developments within the locality. 

MANAGEMENT

Auditors (who must be a member but not on the committee)

The officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting (July or August) for a term of one year. The financial year shall be from 1st April to 31st March.

 

MONIES

The bankers shall be Nationwide of Bishop’s Castle with two signatures to operate the account from Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer.

GROUP'S FORMATION

A group of local residents,concerned about the proposed Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP), held a public meeting in Bishop's Castle Public Hall on Thursday 29th March 2007.    The Bishop's Castle Group was formed at this meeting to monitor the project.

The purpose of The Bishop's Castle Group, and of this site, is to seek reliable and accurate information in order to assess the likely impact of the proposed Biomass Power Project if it should go ahead.
