Concerns SSDC Application ref 1/07/20106/F (withdrawn 30/11/2007) SSDC Application ref 1/08/20502/F (Appeal lodged)
You
need to voice extreme concern about the proposal; say that there is
a lack of factual information being given by the proposers and ask to
be kept
informed. In addition to the letters you may have written, it is important that you write to the planning inspectorate at bristol, quoting the appeal number or use the on-line planning process. These lettters are considered when the planning application is discussed. You may find the links and advice here useful. Some or all of the following questions, in your own words could form part of your letter: Is there sufficient Biomass available locally to ensure that this is a viable project? Will the Biomass be free from preservatives, pesticides and growth supplements that may contain highly reactive chemicals and so give rise to additional pollutants? What assurances
and
safeguards will there be, that this plant will not use other more
polluting
fuels at a later date? How will the
Waste
Water be disposed of? What safeguards
will
there be to protect the near by Severn Trent Water Ltd water supply for
Bishop's Castle & surrounding area? Will all
emissions
from the plant be monitored? If
so,
which pollutants will be measured and will this be on a continuous
basis (real
time monitoring)? If so, will these figures be available on-line. What will be
the
impact on local health and environment? What will be
the
total increase in traffic movements, raw materials to sawmills and
transfer
depots, transfers between these and the proposed Plant and direct
deliveries
from forestry and farms. All of these movements need to be quantified. This
information
comes from a leaflet published by the Bishop's Castle Group, c/o
